Concord, NC, July 11, 2013 – Los Angeles, California, played host to ACN, the world’s largest direct seller of telecommunications, energy and other essential services, for its quarterly International Training Event in June. But unlike traditional corporate events that may draw a few hundred visitors to a city, ACN’s attendees were in the thousands – over 17,000 to be exact.
ACN’s Independent Business Owners, or IBOs, traveled to LA from many of the company’s 23 countries of operation for three days, flooding hotels, restaurants and entertainment venues in and around the downtown area. The economic impact of this three-day event is estimated to be well into the millions. However, the real impact of this event – and every ACN event – can be felt long after the crowd returns home.
ACN is a proud sponsor of Ronald McDonald House Charities worldwide, and as such, at each of its quarterly events, the company raises money for the local chapter during the three-day event. ACN then matches the donations of its IBOs and presents a check to the Ronald McDonald House on Sunday at the conclusion of the event. During the LA event, ACN raised funds for Camp Ronald McDonald For Good Times and presented a check to Sarah E. Orth, the Camp’s Executive Director in the amount of $104,707.20. It is ACN’s hope that this donation will go a long way to help the Camp fulfill their mission of positively impacting the lives of children with cancer and their families by providing fun-filled medically supervised, cost-free camp programs.
“At ACN, giving back is all part of who we are – it’s in our DNA,” said ACN Chairman and Co-Founder Robert Stevanovski “We believe that we have a corporate responsibility to leave these communities a little better off than when we arrived.”
ACN hosts quarterly events around the country, which provide its IBOs with training, recognition, support and networking opportunities, as well as an opportunity to hear directly from some of the best personal development authors and trainers in the world. Best-selling author and leadership expert Chris Widener took the stage in LA. According to ACN President and Co-Founder Greg Provenzano, these events are an integral part of the company’s overall training and support system.
ACN’s next large-scale event will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina, September 13-15.
